The National Association for Professional Detailing and Reconditioning (NAPDR) has formed an Environmental Compliance Council (ECC) to represent the detail and reconditioning industry in addressing environmental issues and business practices, the organization announced.
The association recognizes the importance of understanding the Clean Water Act and for detailers to remain in compliance with local laws and regulations, particularly as stricter standards are enforced, said Diana Bean, NAPDR chairman.
The association has spoken with industry experts about educating members on adhering to the Clean Water Act and finding eco-friendly alternatives to washing with a minimal discharge of water, the NAPDR reported.
The ECC council will work with the detailing community, regional, state and local carwash associations, as well as other groups, to ensure the success of eco-friendly initiatives, the association said.
Members of the ECC are from the detailing, manufacturing and compliance sectors of the industry. The council includes: James Dudra, co-founder, Eco Touch LLC; David Ghodoussi, Optimum Polymer Technologies (no-rinse car care products); Tom Horvath, System One APS Inc.(waterless car care products); Jerry McMillan, president, Cleaning System Specialists Inc.; Anne Ruozzi, co-founder, Eco Touch LLC (waterless car care products); Manuel Segura, SharpShine Professional Automobile Detailing; and John Tervaskis, WGR Southwest (compliance specialist).
